Bishop John O. Barres will not be the presider at the 10:30 AM Mass here at St. Francis de Sales on Sunday, February 5, 2012, as was previously announced.

He has been called to a meeting in Washington, D.C. later that day, and will need travel time. We will be contacted about rescheduling his visit.

Thank you! St. Vincent de Paul fed 70 people on Thursday, January 26th at Opportunity House.

Choir Rehearsals for Holy Week will begin on Sunday, February 5th at 9 AM.
Please reserve the following rehearsal dates:

Sundays at 9 AM

February 5 & 19, March 4 & 18, April 1

Wednesdays at 7 PM

February 15 & 29, March 14 & 28

The” God Desires You” parish retreat scheduled for January 21, 2012 was postponed due to inclement weather.  It is rescheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2012 .  Other than the date change, all other information on the retreat remains unchanged.  Please take the opportunity to re-sign up with a deadline of Monday, February 6th.  New sign-up sheets may be found on the poster in the back of the Church.  You may also email your intention to attend to stfrancisrob82@verizon.net or leave a phone message on 610-693-5851.  Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you on February 11th.   Live + Jesus.

2011 Financial Statements

All those who made contributions to St. Francis de Sales Church will be in receipt of a statement by 1/31/12. If you have changed your address, please notify the office by this Sunday the 15th at deanneoffice@verizon.net or 610-693-5851.

Bereavement Ministry (See pamphlet)  

The St. Francis de Sales Bereavement Ministry will be expanding as of Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2012 and will include Aftercare and Folllow-up services for Adults, Teenagers, and Children.

Alice’s Circle

Alice’s Circle of friendship is a place of warmth and caring; where women come together for listening and sharing. It is a place of kindness and trust, of tears and laughter too. We are glad to share that circle with you. We meet on the second and fourth Thursday of the month in the RCIA room downstairs from 1:00-3:00 PM. All women whether a member of St. Francis de Sales or not are invited. Some of us will sit and visit while others might knit, crochet, embroider or quilt while they visit. We aim to lift your spirits and build community during this time. For more details contact Joan Hresko.

 Other News…

·         We continue to accept non-perishable food items for the Food Pantry located in Trinity Lutheran Church. If the food items come the third Sunday of the month it helps our parishioners who volunteer there on distribution day, the last Thursday of the month. Thank you. (We do accept items other days, also.)

·         Consider a Mass Intention or Chapel Living Flame Intention for a loved one. Plenty of dates are available!

·         Attention Parishioners - Go out for breakfast or dinner on Sundays at Galen Hall, and they will donate 10 percent of your total bill to St. Francis de Sales Church! All you have to do is bring in this bulletin and show them this ad! What a yummy way to support your church!  Breakfast is from 7:30 -11:00 AM Dinner is from 12:00-7:00 PM.

Notes From the Office

Offering Envelopes…

Envelope packets are mailed directly to you from our envelope company, Our Sunday Visitor. Packets are mailed on a bimonthly basis, each packet containing 2 months of envelopes. I send our file to the company on the 25th of every other month.

Bulletin Announcement Deadline…

If you have an announcement for the bulletin it is due in the office by 12:00 Noon on Tuesday for the upcoming weekend. All announcements are subject to approval and editing if necessary.

Attention Leaders of Various Ministries…

Please remember to check for mail in the office.

Monthly Calendar…

If you have an item for the monthly calendar it is due 1 week prior to the last Sunday of the month.
